Initially, in 2009, EISA’s intervention in Chad was focused on support to building the capacity of civil society in election observation. With the extension of its work to political parties EISA had an opportunity to encourage political parties to play a more constructive role in the democratic process and in promoting a modicum of political stability in Chad.
