In 2010, after years of working in the region, EISA opened a field office in Eastern Africa. EISA Kenya staff, based in Nairobi work to support election processes (including the 2010 Referendum and the 2012 Elections) and to facilitate the implementation of the activities envisioned under the African Democracy Strengthening project, which are aimed at strengthening and sustaining democratic institutions and electoral process in Kenya (and elsewhere).
